Scope of the Journal
Theory and Practice of Logic Programming is an international journal that publishes refereed papers covering both the theory and the practice of logic programming. Logic applies to all areas of artificial intelligence and computer science. Logic programming is fundamental to these areas. Among the topics covered are AI applications that use logic programming, logic programming methodologies, specification, analysis and verification of systems, inductive logic programming, multi-relational data mining, natural language processing, knowledge representation, nonmonotonic reasoning, semantic web reasoning, databases, implementations and architectures and constraint logic programming. In addition to these topics, reviews of books will be featured.
Theory and Practice of Logic Programming (TPLP) is published by Cambridge University Press (CUP). TPLP it is the sole official journal of the Association for Logic Programming (ALP, https://logicprogramming.org/) and is offered to its members at a preferential rate. The CUP allows posting of the submitted and of accepted papers to TPLP on personal home pages and in the Computing Research Repository (CoRR, (http://arxiv.org/archive/cs/intro.html), in the latter case provided that a clear reference is made that the paper is to appear in the Journal, or has been published and appears under the Journal copyright
TPLP is a so called “green journal” and Cambridge University press allows for self-archiving by authors (http://www.eprints.org/self-faq/). The Association of Logic Programming insists that self-archiving is in the Computing Research Repository (CoRR) (http://arxiv.org/corr/home) and that a clear reference is made that the paper is under consideration for publication in the Journal, e.g., add to the abstract of the CoRR version “Under consideration for publication in Theory and Practice of Logic Programming (TPLP)”.
Once accepted papers are listed immediately under the ALP web pages (see https://logicprogramming.org/TPLP/) and each paper is made freely available (through its CoRR version). Notice, however, that every paper appearing in TPLP should be cited as a TPLP article (not as a CoRR paper).
Submission Information
The preferred form of submission is by sending two email messages, the first one with the information containing the title, the author(s), and the abstract of the submission, and the second one with a PDF or Postscript file of the submission. Both emails should be sent to the appropriate Area Editor with a copy to the Editor-in-Chief:
